On June 6, 2002, he won a qualifier in 2:01.6.
On June 20, 2002, he impressively won a race at Rosecroft, but was later disqualified.
On July 7, 2002, he was extremely impressive winning a qualifier in 1:57 (last half 58.4).
On July 19, 2002, in a $20,000 lead-up to the Hambletonian, on a very wet track, he put in a bad step & extensively damaged a hind suspensory ligament.
Although lightly raced, Continentalman was highly rated & held in great esteem by his connections even though his racing career was restricted due to injury.
Continentalman’s credentials & general reports on his potential were so impressive that Nevele R Stud broke with tradition & stood a trotting stallion for the first time.
