Leighton Hest continues on winning way
Up-and-coming Dream Vacation gelding Leighton Hest made it six wins on end when he was a comfortable winner of the $30,000 Group 3 First Sovereign Trust 4YO Trotters Championship at Addington last Friday night.
The Phil Williamson trained gelding displayed impeccable manners and although tiring at the end still held off Yankee Nova (Muscles Yankee) comfortably by half a length.
It was the gelding’s sixth win from just eight race-day starts, with the 4yo placing at both his other outings and his earnings now stand at $57,162.
Leighton Hest is the second foal of the Gee Whiz mare Whitney Hest who is also the dam of the two win trotter Nordic Sun.
It was the second feature win at Addington by a son of Dream Vacation in the last month with Dream Machine taking out the Listed PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales Series Trotters Final for 3yo’s back on the 12th of March and also finishing a meritorious second in the $100,000 Group 1 NZ Trotting Derby on Friday evening.
