Dream result in 4YO Ruby
4yo Dream Vacation gelding Leighton Hest continued his rapid rise through the NZ trotting ranks at Ashburton Raceway on May 30 leading home a Dream Vacation quinella in the Group 1 RX Plastics 4YO Ruby.
The up-and-coming Phil Williamson trainee made win number seven look easy, taking control of the race at the half way mark then fending off fellow son of Dream Vacation Real Deal Yankee in the straight to score by one and ¾ lengths in a very slick 1:56.7.
It was Leighton Hest’s seventh career win from just 10 starts, taking his prize-money to almost $110,000.
Leighton Hest was bred and is still part owned by Colin Campbell of Dunedin from his Gee Whiz mare Whitney Hest, who from just two live foals of racing age has also left the two win trotter Nordic Sun.
Dream Vacation is currently the country’s 4th leading trotting sire despite only having the 17 starters so far this season, with other standout runners including Dream Machine and Dreamit.
