Daughter of Dream Vacation takes Trotters Oaks
Promising 3yo Dream Vacation filly Aldebaran Dream kept her unbeaten record intact in the $50,000 Group 1 Dallas Building Victoria Trotters Oaks at Moonee Valley on Friday evening.
Despite only beginning her racing career on May 20 and being checked in the early stages of the 3yo Fillies Classic, Aldebaran Dream was simply too strong for her rivals, including NSW Derby winner Arizona Blue, drawing clear in the final stages for a 3.1m victory at just her third career start.
The NZ bred filly has now won all three race-day starts for $40,500 in stakes.
Bred by L D A Bloodstock Ltd she was sold for $31,000 at the 2007 NZ Premier Yearling Sale.
She is the fifth live foal of the well bred unraced Yankee Reb mare Yankee Diedree with the family also including the likes of Great Northern Trotting Derby winner Hurricane Flyer and numerous other Age Group Champions such as Thanksgiving, Roydon Whiz, Diedre Don and Diedre’s Pride.
Aldebaran Dream is Dream Vacation’s second Group 1 winner in the space of a month with Leighton Hest taking out the RX Plastics 4YO Ruby at Ashburton Raceway on Harness Jewels Day at the end of May.
