Promising 2yo filly Glenferrie Magic broke through for a stylish maiden win at Forbury Park on Thursday evening, taking out heat five of the Magness Benrow Sires Stakes 2YO Fillies Series (1,700m).

Having recorded two black type runner-up finishes in her only other starts to date (the Group 3 American Ideal Stakes behind Dancing Diamonds, and the Listed Caduceus Club Of Southland/Nevele R Stud 2YO Fillies Pace to Here We Go Again) Glenferrie Magic was never going to take long to register her first race-day win and so it proved at Forbury with the Mark Jones trained and driven filly scoring by one and a third lengths from Alchemist in a smart 1:59.1 mile rate.

Her three trips to the races have netted her almost $20,000 in stakes-earnings to date.

By Little Brown Jug winner P-Forty Seven, Glenferrie Magic is out of the smart In The Pocket mare Time Flies, the winner of 36 races in NZ and America and more than $620,000 in stakes-money.

The Tony Herlihy trained P-Forty Seven gelding Victory Code was also a winner over the weekend, registering his third lifetime win from just nine starts at Hawera on Monday afternoon.

Across the Tasman the talented Queensland 3yo pacer, Sevenfortyseven led throughout in a $10,000 Qbred Triad 3yo Colts & Geldings Qualifying Heat at the Gold Coast on Thursday evening to claim an easy 2.3m victory.

The Vic Frost trained 3yo has won 8 races to date for just over $46,000 in prize-money.
