The Geoff Dunn trained Waipawa Junior was stunning in winning the Trillion Trust Junior Drivers Mobile Pace (2,200m) with the 4yo destroying his rivals by eight and three-quarter lengths in a slick mile rate of 1:57.5.
A half brother to former NZ Free For All winner Waipawa Lad, Waipawa Junior has now won four races.
The beautifully bred 3yo High Valour was just as impressive for NZ Cup winning trainers Paul and Graham Court with the colt out of Under Cover Lover also winning by a margin of eight and three-quarter lengths.
Earlier in the evening the 3yo filly Born To Dream was successful for the same training partnership.
High Valour was McArdle’s 10th 3yo winner for the season.
