Live Or Die filly wins Tatlow Stakes
The up and coming Tony Peacock trained filly Lively Moth recorded her biggest career win to date when taking out the $50,000 Group 2 Victaulic Tatlow Stakes 2YO Fillies Final (2,240m) at Tabcorp Park, Victoria on Friday evening.
Although three wide in the middle stages, the promising daughter of Live Or Die was able to find the trail behind the race favourite and recent Australian Pacing Gold champion Leilani Lombo, who raced fiercely throughout much of the juvenile feature, allowing Lively Moth to burst through on the sprint lane in the final stages and claim a comfortable 4.3m victory over Beach Melody and Leilani Lombo.
Lively Moth has fashioned an imposing record to date, with Saturday's win her fourth from just six starts (placing in her only other two trips to the races), improving her earnings to $48,050.
She is the fourth foal and best performed to date of the unraced Classic Gary mare Moody Moth.
Live Or Die remains Australia's leading sire with progeny earnings of over $2.7 million to date this season.
