Live Or Die gelding takes out Premiers Cup
The lightly raced Live Or Die gelding Horace Foxley claimed the biggest race of his career when victorious in the $50,000 Group 2 Inox Premiers Cup Final at the Gold Coast on Friday evening.
Despite galloping away and being caught three wide early the former kiwi pacer worked his way to the lead in the 2,609m race for trainer/driver Peter Greig and never relinquished his position, running strongly to the line to defeat Asituation by 2.4m.
The winner of two races in New Zealand for Stephen Doody, Horace Foxley has now won five of his 10 race-day starts (placing in the other five) for $53,584 in stakes earnings.
The 3yo gelding is the only foal to date for unraced Fake Left mare Lindauer Lady.
Horace Foxley was Live Or Die's 13th Australasian Group race winner for the season and the stallion continues to lead the Australian Sires' Premiership with progeny earnings of over $3 million.
Earlier on the card the two win P-Forty Seven juvenile Sevenfortyseven finished second in the $35,000 Group 3 Qbred Breeders Classic 2yo Colts and Geldings Final.
