Badlands colt claims Adios Final
The George Teague, Jr. trained Delmarvalous claimed the biggest win of his career to date with a hard fought victory in the US$500,000 Delvin Miller Adios Final at the Meadows, Pennsylvania on July 31 (US time).
Despite drawing eight on the front line the 3yo son of Badlands Hanover blazed through the opening quarter in a scorching 25.8 to assume the lead, taking the field through the three-quarters in a phenomenal 1:20.6 before being headed by almost a length by North America Cup runner-up We Will See, but the gallant colt rallied and fought back to take a half length victory over race favourite Versado, recording a 1:49.4 mile rate on the five eighths of a mile track.
An outstanding juvenile the previous season, winning eight of 11 starts, Delmarvalous has now won nine races for earnings of US$546,200.
He is the first foal of the 1:51.8 Scoot Herb mare Prymetyme Scootie.
Badlands Hanover is enjoying another strong North American season with his richest offspring to date, Tug River Princess, taking out the Can$376,000 Roses Are Red Final the previous weekend.
