Western Ideal filly wins Sweetheart Pace

Promising US juvenile filly Honky Tonk Woman broke through for a lucrative maiden win at The Meadowlands on August 20 taking out the US$402,400 Sweetheart Pace Final for 2YO Fillies.

Settling midfield the Jeffrey Webster trained filly was able to claim the pace-makers in the straight and then hold off the fast finishing Ms Malicious to win by a nose on the line in 1:52.6.

The talented daughter of Western Ideal has only had the four trips to the races to date for one win and two placings, along with $US207,675 in stakes earnings.

Honky Tonk Woman is the third foal and third winner from the $150,000 earning Life Sign mare Allamerican Raquel.

Western Ideal has done an outstanding job at stud to date with his seven Northern Hemisphere crops of racing age having earned more than US$52 million and featuring the likes of Rocknroll Hanover, Vintage Master, Western Ace, Cabrini Hanover, Palone Ranger, Always A Virgin, Dial Or Nodial and American Ideal.

Western Ideal’s frozen semen is available through Nevele R Stud this season at a fee of NZ$17,000 + GST.
