Badlands Hanover gelding wins Tasmania Cup

The Glenn Douglas trained former kiwi pacer Heza Trick continued his stellar season with victory in the $40,000 Group 3 Hivotech Tasmania Cup (2,579m) at Hobart on New Year's Day.

The 5yo son of Badlands Hanover  settled towards the back of the field but was sent forward to take over with a mile to go and was simply too good for his rivals, winning by 6m from Thirsty Mach and Jukebox Music.

It was the gelding's 9th win of the season, taking his overall record to 12 wins and earnings of $96,592. Held in high regard by his trainer, Heza Trick is likely to have his next start in the $100,000 Group 1 South Australian Pacing Cup at Globe Derby on January 14.

Bred by Neil Timms, Heza Trick is the 3rd foal of the two-win Cam's Trickster mare Sheza Trick.
