Nevele R sired trotters dominate Inter Dominion heats

Two out of the final three Trotting Inter Dominion Heats at Ballarat on Saturday evening fell to Nevele R sired runners with The Fiery Ginga and I Can Doosit both scoring in the Group 3 features.

In the first of the second round heats The Fiery Ginga led from start to finish and was simply too strong for his rivals, crossing the line 3.3m clear of fellow kiwi trotter Vulcan.

It was the Alan Clark trained and driven trotter's 18th career win, with the 5yo having now won close to $200,000 in lifetime earnings.

By CR Commando, The Fiery Ginga is out of the good producing Pine Chip mare Anreca Hest, whose first four foals have all been winners.

In the last of the heats reigning Inter Dominion champion I Can Doosit recorded successive heat wins despite having to share the honours with the Australian Trotting Grand Prix winner I Didnt Do It

Getting clear late in 2,710m affair the 6yo son of Muscles Yankee went stride for stride with the pace-making Aussie star in the final stages, crossing the line locked together. With the judge unable to separate the pair a dead-heat was declared.

It was the 22nd win of I Can Doosit's career, with the shared prize-money seeing the NZ Trotter of the Year's earnings edge past $700,000.
