Heza Trick claims Geelong Pacing Cup

Former kiwi pacer Heza Trick continued his wonderful run of form for the season with victory in the $25,000 Listed Tabsportsbet Geelong Pacing Cup (2,570m) on Saturday evening.

The 5yo son of Badlands Hanover was superb in running down recent Hunter Cup winner Choice Achiever to claim yet another feature race win. Caught wide early, Heza Trick pressed on to sit outside the pace-making Choice Achiever before fortuitously gaining cover when Lets Slash An Burn moved up to sit in the breeze. Able to extricate himself approaching the home turn, Heza Trick easily reeled in Choice Achiever to score by 1.7m.

It was the Glenn Douglas trained pacer's 14th career win and 11th of the season, taking his earnings to more than $145,000 to date.

Bred by Neil Timms, Heza Trick is out of the winning Cam's Trickster mare Sheza Trick.
