Marquess De Posh impresses in NSW Oaks heat
Star New South Wales filly Marquess De Posh kept her perfect record for the season intact with a dominant display in the last of the $25,000 NSW Oaks heats at Menangle on Friday evening.
The Paul Fitzpatrick trained filly couldn't have been more impressive, settling second last before being set alight in the final stages of the 2,400m race to reel in the leaders and win by 1.5m from Dream Runna.
It was the 3yo daughter of McArdle's sixth straight win for the season, with her overall career record an impressive 8 wins from 9 starts and earnings of just a touch under $80,000 to date.
The Tim Butt trained McArdle filly Elusive Chick put in a massive performance in the second of the heats on the night to also qualify for Saturday's $200,000 Group 1 Final, with the recent NZ Yearling Sales Series Championship runner-up breaking at the start and losing considerable ground.
Both fillies have drawn well for the Final with Elusive Chick drawing barrier one and Marquess De Posh four.
