Marquess De Posh cleans up in Newcastle Oaks
The Paul Fitzpatrick trained Marquess De Posh was far too classy for her rivals in the Nevele R Stud Newcastle Oaks (2,550m), running out a comfortable winner on Friday evening.
Allowed to find her feet in the early stages, Marquess De Posh soon assumed the lead and once in front was never in any doubt of winning, simply drawing away from her rivals in the straight to score untouched by 7m from Motu Miss Lilli and Dynamite Denn Nee.
Already the winner of the NSW Oaks this season, and runner-up in the Victoria Oaks, Marquess De Posh has won 10 of her 13 lifetime starts to date for earnings of just over $225,000.
Bred by Adele and Lindsay Dawkins of Blenheim NZ, Marquess De Posh is by leading Nevele R sire McArdle, out of the unraced Armbro Operative mare Fremantle Sunset.
