A multiple stakes placed 3yo behind the likes of USTA Horse of the Year Rocknroll Hanover, Lis Mara took a race record of 1:51.8 during a lucrative 7 win season before going on to develop into one of America's finest free-for-allers as a 4 and 5yo.

At 4, Lis Mara swept all before him in a season that netted almost $1 million in stakes courtesy of wins in the Breeders Crown Final (in the fastest race time ever recorded in the event's history - 1:47.6), the Canadian Pacing Derby and the Des Smith Final. In a stellar season Lis Mara only once failed to finish in the first three, winning 10 of his 17 starts and placing in a further 6. His times were truly phenomenal with the entire winning in sub 1:50 times a record 8 times in a single season. Lis Mara was the recipient of the 2006 O'Brien, Dan Patch and Nova Aged Pacer of the Year awards on the back of his performances.

In his final season, as a 5yo, on the track, Lis Mara again won close to $1 million in stakes and 9 races in total, becoming one of only a select few to defend his Canadian Pacing Derby title and also winning the prestigious Graduate Series at the Meadowlands, as well as placing in the US Pacing Championship, Ben Franklin FFA Final and the Classic Series Final. Lis Mara maintained his dazzling speed as a 5yo, winning in 1:50 or better another record 8 times in 2007, taking a seasonal best mark of 1:47.8.
