Reigning Breeders’ Crown and Harness Jewels champion Tintin In America produced another devastating performance at Cambridge Raceway on Friday evening, gunning down some of the country’s best 4-year-olds’ with a scintillating home straight sprint to win the $50,000 Group 2 JLT 4yo Futurity Stakes.
Second last on straightening for home in the 2,700m feature, the 4yo son of McArdle blazed past his rivals to just catch the Superstars 4YO Championship winner Highview Tommy in the shadows of the post and claim a superb win by a neck.
It was the Geoff Small runner’s 12th career-win, taking his earnings to $683,388.
Bred by Beryl Pears and owned by the ATC Trot 2008 Syndicate, Tintin In America is the first foal of the 4-win In The Pocket mare Zenterfold, who’s only other foal to have raced to date is the 1700m 2yo NZ record holder Zenstar.
