5yo Live Or Die gelding Tanabi Bromac is shaping up as a leading contender for next month’s Hunter Cup after trouncing his rivals in the $50,000 Group 2 Shepparton Gold Cup on Saturday evening.
Fresh from a last start win in the Horsham Cup, Tanabi Bromac sat parked for the majority of the 2,690m race before kicking clear of the field in the straight to score by 4m from Cincinnati Kid, Tear It All Away and Karloo Mick.
It was the former Victoria Derby winner’s 17th lifetime-win with his earnings now sitting at $339,040. The win also guaranteed him a start in next month’s $400,000 Hunter Cup.
The gelding was bred by Kevin and Colleen Bamford of Victoria and is out of the unraced Village Jasper mare Tanabi.
