Always B Miki’s progeny star in stakes wins at Albion Park

Always B Miki sired a superb stakes race double on the opening night of the Inter-Dominion Championships at Albion Park on Saturday night, with Fate Awaits claiming the Group 1 $300,000 The Rising Sun and Fire And Passion the Group 3 Paleface Adios Classic.
In The Rising Sun, the Grant Dixon trained Fate Awaits sat behind the leader throughout and had the speed to best the race favourite and fellow son of Always B Miki, The Janitor, in the home straight, to score by a neck.
It was the third Group 1 victory for the reigning Australian 2YO Male Pacer of the Year, with Fate Awaits also having won the Protostar and the NSW Breeders Challenge Final last season.
In winning, Fate Awaits became the first 3-year-old pacer to take out The Rising Sun, with 4-year-olds having won the previous four editions of the race.
It extended his impressive record to nine wins and six placings from just seventeen starts, for earnings of $621,126.
Fate Awaits is out of the Group 3 winning Art Major mare, For All We Know.
In the $52,000 Paleface Adios Classic for 2-year-old pacers, Fire And Passion led for the majority of the trip and was simply too good for his rivals, winning by two lengths.
Like Fate Awaits, Fire And Passion is also trained by Dixon, and is forging a terrific 2-year-old record to date this season – with the win his fifth from just six starts and it taking his earnings to $103,687.
Fire And Passion is out of the Mach Three mare Fire One.
