Captain Crunch colt captures Vicbred Super Series Final
The richly bred Captain Crunch colt Soho Trump was an impressive winner of the $100,000 Group 2 Vicbred Super Series 2YO Colts and Geldings Final at Melton on Saturday night.
The Mick Stanley trained juvenile led for the majority of the race after pressing forward off the gate and kicked home strongly with a 26.1sec last quarter to hold off the late challengers and score by just over a metre from the fast finishing Always B Miki colt, Lovetobeuptome.
The exciting son of Captain Crunch has won three of his four starts to date and banked $61,192 in stakes earnings.
Bred and raced by Robert Watson, Soho Trump hails from one of Australia’s best maternal families - with his dam the multiple Group 1 winning Bettor’s Delight mare Aussie Made Lombo and his granddam the great mare Tailamade Lombo.
Soho Trump is the sixth stakes winner to date for his young sire.
