Daughter of Vincent takes out Group 1 feature

The Mark and Nathan Purdon trained Shezsofast was a tough front-running winner of the Group 1 Caduceus Club 2YO Fillies Classic at Alexandra Park on Friday night.

Having led from the outset, Shezsofast had to dig deep late in the home straight to withstand the challenge from Lizzie Borden who briefly looked the likely winner, fighting back to score by half a length at the line.

The daughter of Vincent has now won two races from four starts and banked $75,962 in stakes earnings.

A $35,000 purchase at the 2024 NZB Standardbred Auckland Yearling Sale, Shezsofast is out of the stakes placed American Ideal mare River Polka, making her a half-sister to Without You (by Captain Crunch) who placed third in last season’s running of the Caduceus Club 2YO Fillies Classic.
