Nevele R Stud 2025 Service Fees and Specials
Nevele R Stud is pleased to announce its stallion line-up and service fees, along with a number of on farm specials, for the 2025-26 breeding season.
The Stud is cognisant of the costs involved in breeding today, as well as the importance of continuing to get foals on the ground for the future health of the harness racing industry, and as such has reduced many of its service fees and has some attractive on farm offers and stallion service fee discounts available this season.
On the trotting sires front the roster is again headed up by the 2023 US Trotter of the Year Tactical Approach, who returns to the Southern Hemisphere to stand his second season at Alabar Australia.
The Hambletonian winning son of the boom trotting sire Tactical Landing served quality books of mares on both sides of the Tasman last year and is available this season at a reduced fee of NZ$7,500 + GST and AU$8,250 incl. GST, with multiple mare discounts applying.
Creatine, Father Patrick and Marcoola round out the stud’s trotting sires ranks.
Creatine continues to carve out a terrific record down-under, producing 75% winners to starters and leaving precocious 2-year-olds, such as this season’s Young Guns Final runner-up Redpark Warrior, through to open class stakes performers like the Group 1 Anzac Cup winner Mighty Logan and the $250,000+ earning, stakes winning mare Faith In Manchester.
Father Patrick, arguably the best value trotting stallion available in New Zealand at the moment, has been the country’s leading sire of 2-year-old trotters for the past three seasons and currently heads the 2YO, 3YO and 4YO NZ Trotting Sires Premierships, along with being a close second on the All Age table.
2024 saw him sire three New Zealand Age Group Horses of the Year in Meant To Be, Habibti Pat and Father Time .
Frozen semen for him is available in both New Zealand and Australia, and at a reduced fee of NZ$5,000 + GST and AU$5,500 incl. GST he is exceptional value for a stallion of his calibre and results.
The three-time Group 1 winner Marcoola has got off to a strong start at stud and is really beginning to make his presence felt in the trotting sires ranks, with him currently sitting fourth on the NZ 3YO Trotting Sires Table with his first crop.
He is the sire of the exciting 3-year-old Rogue Hero, who looked a carbon copy of his sire when winning his third race by four lengths back at the end of May.
From small numbers, Marcoola has had six starters for three winners (the promising fillies Snooowgood and Diva Bee being the others) and two place-getters.
For the trotting enthusiasts this season, Nevele R is offering a special 50% discount on the service fee for each additional mare after the first one for both Creatine and Marcoola. This deal can include any combination of the two above stallions – e.g. it applies for two or more mares to Creatine, two or more mares to Marcoola, or alternatively one mare to Creatine and one mare to Marcoola. There is no upper limit on the amount of additional mares at this discount.
The pacing stallion line-up this season consists of Captain Crunch, Pebble Beach and Vincent.
Captain Crunch, whose oldest progeny are 3-year-olds this season, has quickly established himself as a top tier sire in both New Zealand and Australia with 77 individual winners and 11 stakes performers to date.
He is currently second on the NZ 3YO Pacing Sires Table, behind only Bettors Delight, and is third on the Australian 2YO Pacing Sires List, with standout performers to date this season including the likes of the stakes winning juveniles The Queens Gambit and Steam Machine, as well as the APG Sales Graduate Final winners Degarmea Teale, Captain Stirling and Its Maa Time.
Pebble Beach, the 2022 US and Canadian 3YO Pacer of the Year, stands his third season at stud and his impressive first crop foals saw many repeat breeders to him last season.
His service fee has been lowered from NZ$6,000 + GST/AU$6,600 incl. GST the previous season to $NZ5,000 + GST and AU$5,500 incl. GST for 2025.
Vincent continues to leave quality pacers season after season, with his New Zealand flagbearer the 2025 Group 2 Superstars Championship winner and 2024 NZ Derby runner-up Vessem – the winner of 10 races and over $250,000 in stakes, while the Group 1 winner Reinette heads up his Australian progeny.
Five of Nevele R’s stallions will qualify this season for the new Harness 5000 Series, with Creatine, Marcoola, Father Patrick, Pebble Beach and Vincent all meeting the criteria.
In New Zealand, multiple mare discounts, along with the early bird 20% discount for payment by the 30th of September 2025, apply for all stallions with the exception of Father Patrick.
For confirmation of the discount structure in Australia, please contact Alabar Australia.
