Son of Always B Miki too good in Group 1 Queensland 2YO feature
The Grant Dixon trained Fire And Passion is the latest Group 1 winner for super sire Always B Miki after easily taking out the $150,000 QBred Triad 2YO Colts and Geldings Final at Albion Park on Saturday night.
Parked early before finding the lead with just over a lap to run in the 1660m feature, Fire And Passion maintained his dominance of Queensland’s juvenile ranks, pulling clear late to score by two and a half lengths in a career best mile rate of 1:52.2.
It was Fire And Passion’s eighth win from just 10 race-day starts and took his earnings to $210,528.
Bred by Solid Earth Pty Ltd, he is out of the Mach Three mare Fire One.
Always B Miki is enjoying an outstanding season in Australia with five Group 1 winners (Always Hot, Fate Awaits, Fire And Passion, Mister Smartee and Rubira) and progeny earnings of $4.35 million to date in 2025.
