Strong results for Lazarus at Karaka

The progeny of Lazarus was in demand at the NZB Auckland Yearling Sale at Karaka on Saturday afternoon.
Yearlings by the two-time NZ Harness Horse of the Year averaged $60,000, making him the second leading sire overall by average behind only Captaintreacherous.
His top lot (Lot 124 ) was an outstanding looking colt out of a daughter of the champion globe-trotting filly Tupelo Rose that sold for $100,000 to the Barry Purdon & Scott Phelan Racing Stables.
Lazarus has a further 12 yearlings on offer at tomorrow’s Christchurch Yearling Sale, with highlights including a colt out of the Group 1 winner Lancome, a half brother to the Group 1 winner B D Joe and a full-sister to the stakes placed 3-year-old of last season, Jeremiah (5 wins $143,289).
