Vincent’s streak of spring stakes winners continues
Vincent’s superlative recent run as a stakes producing sire continued over the weekend, with the unbeaten filly Arrhythmia a last stride winner of the Group 2 Vicbred Super Series 2YO Pacing Fillies Final at Melton on Saturday night.
The Emma Stewart trained juvenile had to be tough to keep her undefeated record intact in the $100,000 feature.
She sat parked for the last lap and was giving her stablemate a decent head start at the top of the straight, but in a determined performance the Vincent filly drew closer with every stride to just nail Pre Eminant on the line and take the victory.
It was Arrhythmia’s seventh win from seven starts and took her earnings to just under $90,000.
She is out of the Somebeachsomewhere mare Jo An Leonie.
Arrhythmia wasn’t the only juvenile sired by Vincent to win a feature race over the weekend, with his son Pure Grunt taking out the $125,000 Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale Classic Final for 2YO Colts and Geldings at Albion Park the previous evening, leading from start to finish to win in a career best time of 1:53.2.
The Vincent colt has enjoyed a profitable freshman season this year, having won six races and $179,347 in stakes.
He is out of the American Ideal mare Ideal Tact.
