Nevele R Stud is pleased to announce its New Zealand stallion line-up and fees for the 2022-23 breeding season.

As announced earlier this month, an exciting addition to our on farm, and to the Canterbury stallion ranks for 2022, is the 15-time Group 1 winning and two-time New Zealand Harness Horse of the Year Lazarus, who will stand at Nevele R in partnership with Alabar.

Lazarus is off to a wonderful start with his first crop in North America, where he is currently the third leading sire of 2-year-old pacers and his New Jersey Sires Stakes leg winning son Lifes A Puzzle the fastest of his age to date this year with a debut win in 1:50.8.

Off the back of Alabar achieving a terrific 90% in foal rate on farm with Lazarus last season, but only fair off-farm results, we strongly recommend that if you're planning to have your mare served by Lazarus this season, that you send your mare to Nevele R to give you the best chance of getting your mare in foal to him.

Lazarus has proven very popular since the announcement and his book is filling fast. We encourage anyone that would like a booking to him to either book online now or get in touch with our office sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.

US 2YO Pacer of the Year Captain Crunch will be standing his third Southern Hemisphere season in 2022 and we’ve been thrilled with both the books that he’s received to date and the response to his first crop of weanlings.

He was the leading sire by average at the recent New Zealand Bloodstock National Weanling Sale and was the sire of both the highest priced filly and colt at the sale.

Captain Crunch relocates to Alabar Australia this season, and will stand alongside Always B MikiVincent and Ultimate Sniper.

Always B Miki has stamped himself as one of the best sires in both hemispheres over the past two seasons and enjoyed impressive yearling sales results in New Zealand in 2022 with his progeny averaging over $66,000 at Karaka and $53,318 at Canterbury Agricultural Park.

Vincent’s first crop of 2-year-olds have certainly hit the tracks running in 2022, with five stakes performers to date, including the Group 2 Sapling Stakes winner Vinke B and runner-up Wish Me Luck.

He is currently third on the NZ 2YO Pacing Sires Premiership – behind only Bettor’s Delight and Art Major.

We’re also very much looking forward to seeing the first foals of the Inter Dominion winner and 2020 NZ Harness Horse of the Year, Ultimate Sniper, this spring. He will once again be available in New Zealand this season.

Nevele R’s trotting stallions this season are Father Patrick, who is currently the leading sire of 2-year-old trotters in both New Zealand and Australia, and MarcoolaSundon’s richest and fastest entire son.

An early bird special of 20% discount on the advertised service fee of any of our fresh/chilled semen stallions for payment by the 30th of September 2022 applies this season to mares served in New Zealand.

Father Patrick remains payable on live foal and will be available also to Australian breeders at a fee of AUD$6,600 including GST.

Please contact our office on 03 349 8627 or use our online form to book your mare.

Australian service fees are yet to be confirmed. For more information on these please contact Alabar Australia.
