The Brown Brian trained Proof proved too classy in the $253,000 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes Final for 2YO Colts and Geldings at The Meadows on September 1, downing the previously unbeaten De Los Cielos Deo in an impressive winning performance.

The A Rocknroll Dance youngster speared to the lead from barrier seven, before handing up to the odds on favourite, De Los Cielos Deo at the quarter pole and biding his time. Rounding the final turn, Proof dashed up the inside, sprinting strongly in the home straight to catch the leader and score by a half length margin in a career best time of 1:51.

Proof's winning time of 1:51 is the equal second fastest time recorded by a 2-year-old pacer in North America so far this year.

The son of A Rocknroll Dance is fashioning an impressive record, with four wins and two seconds from six race day starts to date, and with earnings of $212,591 he is also the richest North American 2-year-old pacer to date in 2018.

A Diamond Creek Farm homebred, Proof is the second foal out of the $1.9 million earning Real Artist mare Ginger And Fred, who also won her 2YO PASS Fillies Final back in 2008.

He will likely now be aimed at the Can$815,000 Metro Pace, a race won last year by the first crop son of A Rocknroll Dance, Lost In Time, who was also voted the US 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year in 2017 but whom has been unfortunately sidelined, after an impressive North America Cup placing, through injury.
