The Marc Butler trained A Spanish Dance proved a class above her rivals in Saturday night’s Group 3 Tasmanian Oaks at Hobart, with a dominant display in the 2,579m feature.

A last start winner of the 3YO Fillies Championship, over the majority of the fillies contesting the Oaks, A Spanish Dance was installed a short priced favourite for the classic. The money proved spot on as the daughter of A Rocknroll Dance took charge of the race over the last lap and powered home to win by over 13m from the second placed Missin Rock.

A Spanish Dance has now won five races and $43,862 in stakes.

Bred by B J and B L Stanley, A Spanish Dance is out of the Modern Art mare Guernica.
