Just like in North America, it hasn't taken long for exciting first season sire A Rocknroll Dance to leave a feature race winner down-under, with Its Rock And Roll taking out the $100,000 Group 1 WA Sales Classic for 2YO Colts and Geldings at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

The Colin Brown trained and driven youngster had to be tough too - after having had to work hard early on Its Rock And Roll was still able to chase down the race favourite Shockwave, who looked home for all money, in the straight and score by a half head.

Its Rock And Roll's winning mile rate of 1:56.6 was a new race record too, lowering Allmightyjoelouis' 2016 mark by 0.3 of a second.

He has won two of his three starts to date and banked $70,825 in stakes.

Bred by Dr Ed Dewar, Its Rock And Roll is out of the three-time winning Bettor's Delight mare Miss Worthy Whitby - making him closely related to the unbeaten 2013 Australian 2YO Pacing Colt of the Year The Storm Inside.
