The Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan trained Always B Miki colt Cold Chisel picked up his second feature win of the season when he took out the $200,000 Listed Harness Million 2YO Pacing Colts and Geldings Final at Addington on Friday night.

He enjoyed a dream run in the trail behind the race favourite Le Major and sprinted home strongly up the passing lane to hold out the fast closing Chase A Dream by a neck.

The winner of the Group 2 Young Guns Cardigan Bay Stakes back in March, Cold Chisel has won three of his five starts and banked just under $150,000 in stakes.

A $100,000 purchase by Montana Park Pty Ltd at the 2022 NZB Christchurch Yearling Sale, Cold Chisel is out of the Southland Oaks placed Presidential Ball mare Shezaball, and was bred by Mark and Pauline OʻConnor and Owen Shaw.

Always B Miki is currently New Zealandʻs leading sire of 2-year-old pacers, with five juvenile stakes performers to date in 2023.
