Always B Miki colt Perfect Sting notched up his second straight Kentucky Sires Stakes win at The Red Mile today, scorching over the red clay in 1:49 2/5, making him the first 2-year-old this season to record a sub 1:50 mark.

The Joe Hollaway trained colt swept to the lead past the quarter pole and despite facing plenty of pressure from Native’s Filou through torrid middle sections of 27 4/5 and 27 seconds flat, Perfect Sting kicked clear in the straight to win by two and a half lengths.

His winning time of 1:49 2/5 is the fastest recorded by a 2-year-old pacer in North America so far in 2020.

He remains unbeaten in four starts to date.

The Brittany Farms and Val D’Or Farms homebred is out of the fastest 3-year-old pacing filly of all time, Shebestingin, a $760,000 earning daughter of Bettor’s Delight whose 2013 1:47 world record life-time mark still stands today.
