The Always B Miki colt Perfect Sting recorded the equal fastest time by a 2-year-old pacer in 2020 with an eye-catching 1:50.8 win in a $40,000 division of the Kentucky Sires Stakes at The Red Mile today.

Racing just off the pace, Perfect Sting took the lead after the three quarter pole and kept fellow Always B Miki colt Four More Years at bay in the straight to score by a length and a half.

His winning time of 1:50.8 is the fastest by a 2-year-old male pacer this season and the equal fastest by a 2-year-old pacer overall.

The royally bred colt is now a perfect three wins from three starts.

In addition to being by the co-fastest of pacer of all time, Perfect Sting’s dam is the former fastest female pacer of all time, Shebestingin – a $760,000 earning daughter of Bettor’s Delight.

Always B Miki’s first crop progeny co-hold the three fastest times recorded by 2-year-old pacers this season in North America (Perfect Sting 1:50.8, Grace Hill 1:51 and Always A Miki 1:51.2).
