The classy Always B Miki filly Aardie’s Express proved too strong for her rivals in the Group 2 Nevele R Stud/Macca Lodge Southland Oaks at Invercargill on Saturday.

The Steve and Amanda Telfer trained filly couldn’t have been more impressive in winning.

Towards the back of the field through the first half of the race, she swept to the lead with a little over a lap to run and simply left the field to it at the top of the straight, powering home in 28.6 to win by two lengths.

It was her sixth win from just seven race-day starts to date.

Beautifully bred, Aardie’s Express is a daughter of the multiple Group 1 placed Rocknroll Hanover mare Tatijana Bromac, whom had the misfortune to race in a crop that included the champion fillies Bettor Cover Lover and Carabella.

Aardie’s Express is the seventh stakes winner from Always B Miki’s first Southern Hemisphere crop.
