Always B Miki mare claims Listed Frith Stakes
Golly Gee Fellas produced a powerful finish to win the Listed Frith Stakes at Menangle on Saturday night.
Racing three wide into the first bend, the Rickie Alchin trained mare settled one-out one-back, then bided her time through the middle stages before unleashing a strong sprint at the top of the straight to win by a head.
A Group 1 winner at three, the now 5-year-old daughter of Always B Miki has won nine races and earned $196,850 in stakes.
She is the best-performing foal to date from Well Hello Dolly, a mare by Bettor’s Delight.
Always B Miki’s metropolitan success continued over the weekend. In addition to Golly Gee Fellas, his Australian winners included Enjoy Life in a Victoria Derby heat at Melton on Saturday, and Mikis Pride and Koojan at Gloucester Park on Friday night.
In New Zealand, B Envious and Muchacho delivered a winning double at Alexandra Park, while Always Be Batman won at Addington.
