The Pennsylvania Sire Stakes(PASS) Finals were a terrific showcase for the progeny of Always B Miki with the first season sire producing the winner of the $253,000 2YO Pacing Colts and Geldings Final as well as the runner-up of the $253,000 Fillies Final.

Starting the odds on favourite in the Colts and Geldings Championship, Southwind Gendry sat a little worse than mid-field for much of the race before sprinting home strongly in the straight to win going away at the line in 1:51 3/5.

The winner of four of his six starts to date, Southwind Gendry (pictured) has banked $217,144 in his first season of racing so far.

Purchased for $30,000 at last year’s Lexington Select Yearling Sale, Southwind Gendry is out of the stakes placed Cams Card Shark mare Gamblers Passion and is her best performed foal to date.

The Nifty Norman trained filly Grace Hill very nearly made it PASS double for Always B Miki, with the pre-race favourite just getting collared in the straight by the Captaintreacherous filly Blue Diamond Eyes in the Fillies Championship.

The royally bred Grace Hill still boasts three wins and two seconds from five lifetime starts and earnings of $187,772. She is the equal fastest 2-year-old filly on a 1000m track to date in 2020.

Another Lexington Select graduate, Grace Hill sold for $75,000 and is out of the $1.7 million earning Western Terror mare Western Silk.
