There was fierce competition for the third crop progeny of Always B Miki at the recent New Zealand Bloodstock Yearling Sales, with the stallion averaging almost nine times his service fee at the Auckland sale and more than seven times his fee at Christchurch.

Nine lots went under the hammer at Karaka with seven selling for an average price of $66,429 and a top lot of $105,000.

Consigned by Breckon Farms, Always B Miki’s top lot at Auckland was a colt out of the Group 1 performed juvenile Rozelski, making him a half to the 2021 Welcome Stakes winner and 2YO Sires Stakes Final runner-up Cosmic Major.

He was purchased by Diamond Racing.

22 Always B Miki yearlings were sold over the two days of the Christchurch Sale of Pacers at an average price of $53,318.

Peter Lagan Standardbreds went to $180,000 to secure a filly out of Beaudiene Babe from the draft of Beaudiene Breeding  - the highest price paid for a filly at the sale.

The regally bred filly is a half-sister to two Group 1 winners, Beaudiene Bad Babe and Beaudiene Boaz.

Two other yearlings by Always B Miki sold for $100,000 or more, with a half-sister to last season’s star juvenile Akuta fetching $150,000 for Renwick Farm, whilst a colt out of the successful producer Shezaball sold for $100,000 late on the last day.
