Always Hot remains perfect with NSW Derby win

Rising young pacing star Always Hot remains undefeated after yet another dominant performance – this time in the $200,000 Group 1 NSW Derby at Menangle on Saturday night.
The Emma Stewart trained 3-year-old son of Always B Miki worked to the lead from his wide barrier draw, and despite being taken on by Fate Awaits through some quick late sectionals, easily shrugged off his rivals in the closing stages to score untouched by just over three lengths.
It was the colt’s second Group 1 victory and he is now unbeaten in eight race day starts, with stakes earnings of $258,300 to date.
Bred, and co-raced, by Peter Gleeson, Always Hot is out of the stakes winning Mach Three mare Our Celebrity.
His sire Always B Miki currently heads the Australian 3YO Pacing Sires Table, with his progeny having won almost twice as much as his nearest rival.
