Last start Kentucky Futurity winner Amigo Volo’s rich vein of form continued at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Saturday night, with the brilliant 3-year-old son of Father Patrick winning in his Breeders Crown elimination in track record time.

The Nifty Norman trained square-gaiter gained the lead off one of his main danger’s, Beads, by the quarter pole and from there always looked to have the race in his safe-keeping, trotting to the line strongly to score by three-quarters of a length from Beads in a new track record time of 1:51 2/5 on the five eighths of a mile track.

It was the seventh win of the season for Amigo Volo and his thirteenth overall, improving his career earnings to $1,313,606 – considerably more than his $42,000 price tag at the 2018 Lexington Select Yearling Sale.

Bred by Kentuckiana Farms and Jorgen Jahre of Norway, Amigo Volo is out of the multiple stakes race winning Yankee Glide mare Margarita Momma.

Like he did in 2019, Amigo Volo seems to getter better in the back end of the season and will be looking to make it consecutive Breeders Crown victories next weekend after easily winning the 2YO Trotting Colts and Geldings Final at Woodbine Mohawk Park last year.

A win next weekend would see him surpass the reigning US Trotter of the Year, Greenshoe, as Father Patrick’s richest offspring and make him a leading contender to emulate Greenshoe as US 3YO Trotting Colt of the Year.
