A Rocknroll Dance’s Australian season continues to go from strength to strength, with the stallion producing yet another Group 1 winning juvenile over the weekend, as well as an aged Group race winner.

The highlight of the weekend was the win of the Aiden De Campo trained Rock On Top in the Group 1 Westbred Classic for 2YO Colts and Geldings at Gloucester Park on Friday evening.

Despite racing a little greenly, Rock On Top had the better of his rivals in the $100,000 feature, comfortably winning by just over a length and a half.

He has now won four races and $103,503 in stakes, having also placed in the Group 1 Pearl Classic a fortnight ago.

Bred by Steve Johnson, Rock On Top is out of the Grinfromeartoear mare Harper Grace, a half-sister to the former Group 1 APG 2YO Final winner Bus To Harland.

He is A Rocknroll Dance’s fourth Australian juvenile Group 1 winner to date and sixth overall.

It was the turn of the ex-kiwi pacer L L Cool J the following night, with the 5-year-old outclassing a strong field to take out the Group 2 Redcliffe Gold Cup on Saturday night.

Clearly thriving in his new home of Queensland, the much improved pacer has now won eight of his 11 starts on Australian soil and 14 in total, for stakes earnings of $144,018.

Bred by Suzanne Herlihy, L L Cool J is out of the Live Or Die mare Alesandra Ambrosio, making him a half to the $500,000 plus earner American Boy.
