It was another massive weekend of results across the Tasman for A Rocknroll Dance, with the stallion siring another stakes race double – his second in the space of a fortnight.

At Tabcorp Park Melton the well related kiwi bred Yorkshire nabbed the first stakes win of his career, taking out Group 3 Gordon Rothacker Memorial Championship Final on Saturday evening, whilst Whereyabinboppin picked up his second black type win of the season with an easy win in the Group 3 Celebrating Harold Park Cup at Menangle on the same night.

In just his second Australian start for new trainer Kima Frenning, Yorkshire enjoyed a charmed run in the 1,720m Melton feature race, sitting one out one back for much of the running before sprinting home the best out wide to win by a neck in a new lifetime mark of 1:53.7.

It was the fifth win of his career and took his stakes earnings past the $50,000 mark.

Bred by the Hardwood Breeding Syndicate, Yorkshire is out of the Group 1 winning Christian Cullen mare Veste, making him a half-brother to the recent Group 1 NZ Sires Stakes 3YO Final winner It’s All About Faith.

Before being sold to Australian interests Yorkshire was previously raced in partnership by Nevele R Stud, Alabar NZ and Diamond Creek Farm.

The Shane Sanderson trained Whereyabinboppin continued his terrific 4-year-old season, comfortably downing a quality field that included the likes of Cash N Flow, who has been nigh on unbeatable at Menangle this year, in the sole Group race of the night at the track.

Whereyabinboppin blasted off the gate to take the lead, stopping the timer at 25.5 for the opening quarter. Looking in control throughout the 1,609m, the big striding gelding kicked clear of his rivals in the straight and crossed the line 5.6m clear of the second placed Pay Me Sam.

It was the talented gelding’s 12th career win from just 19 starts and took his earnings to $93,840.

Bred by Troy Saddler, Whereyabinboppin is out of the five-time winning Modern Art mare Whereyawheeliebin.

It’s been an incredible last fortnight of results for A Rocknroll Dance with five individual stakes race winners since December 5 – No Win No Feed, Big Wheels, Keayang Jackie (who was an impressive winner again over the weekend just been), Yorkshire and Whereyabinboppin.
