Muscle Mass mare Plunge Blue Chip produced the fastest ever race mile on a half mile track by a trotter in the $87,500 Miss Versatility Series Final at the Delaware County Fairgrounds on Little Brown Jug day with a sublime 1:51 3/5 front running performance.

Leading from start to finish the Ake Svanstedt trained mare romped to an eight length lead by the three-quarter pole before coasting home to cross the line five and a quarter lengths clear of her nearest rival.

Her winning time of 1:51 3/5 lowered Maven’s 2013 all-comers record by a fifth of a second.

In terrific form this season, Plunge Blue Chip has finished in the top three in all bar one of her starts in 2020 to date.

Her overall record now stands at 22 wins and 18 placing from 46 starts and lifetime earnings of $1,457,041.

Alongside her half mile track world record Plunge Blue Chip is also the joint fastest 3yo trotting filly of all time with a 1:49 4/5 win in a division of the Del Miller Memorial back in 2018.

A $42,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase, Plunge Blue Chip is out of the un-raced Donato Hanover mare Dunk The Donato and is from the maternal family of the $4 million earner Mr Muscleman.
