Sylvia Hanover became just the sixth pacing filly to have won Breeders Crown Finals at both two and three years of age after overcoming a torrid trip to take out the $600,000 Final for 3YO Pacing Fillies at Harrahʻs  Hoosier Park on Saturday.

Settling in sixth spot off the gate Sylvia Hanover challenged the pace making Twin B Fresh hard for the lead through the second quarter, taking it briefly but then appearing to fade when dropping back and conceding two and a half lengths to Twin B Fresh at the three quarter pole.

But like great horses can do Sylvia Hanover rallied in the straight to first grab Twin B Fresh, and then fight back when headed by the fast finishing Charleston to win by a neck at the line in a time of 1:49.4.

Another daughter of Always B Miki, Always B Naughty, finished third.

It was Sylvia Hanoverʻs 18th win from 22 starts, taking her career earnings to a stellar $1,742,675.

In winning, she also likely locked in US and Canadian 3YO Pacing Filly of the Year honours.

Bred by the famed Hanover Shoe Farms, Sylvia Hanover is out of the stakes placed Artiscape mare Shyaway.
