Big weekend at The Meadowlands for Always B Miki

The progeny of Always B Miki shone in the Breeders Crown eliminations at The Meadowlands over the weekend, with the second season North American stallion siring three of the freshman and sophomore elimination winners and two runners-up.

In the eliminations for 2-year-old pacers, the Metro Pace winner Monte Miki was a decisive winner in a new lifetime mark of 1:50.8.

It was his fifth win from six starts this year, taking his earnings to $451,796.

The She’s A Great Lady winner Niki Hill was a fast finishing second in her elimination heat, taking her record to six wins and one second placing from seven starts to date and earnings of $384,541.

Another 2-year-old by Always B Miki, in the PASS championship winner True Blue Lindy also qualified for this weekend’s $600,000 2YO Colts and Geldings Final.

In the 3-year-old eliminations, the progeny of Always B Miki very nearly swept all three events with Grace Hill taking out the sole fillies elimination, Perfect Sting victorious in his and Southwind Gendry finishing in the runner-up spot in the final elimination.

Grace Hill’s win improved her record to 11 lifetime wins and $713,195 in stakes, whilst Perfect Sting’s impressive performance took his overall record to 16 career wins and $1,561,447 in earnings.

Southwind Gendry’s second placing saw him edge closer to millionaire status, with the gelding having now banked $984,891.
