Big Weekend for A Rocknroll Dance

Bar Room Banta headlined a terrific weekend down-under for the stock of A Rocknroll Dance, with a scintillating win in the $125,000 Group 1 NSW Breeders Challenge for 2YO Pacing Colts and Geldings at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday evening.

Blazing to the lead from barrier seven, Bar Room Banta burned through the opening quarter in 25.9, and having parked his main rival Tasty Delight continued to pour on the speed with the half coming up in 54.5. Having run his rivals off their feet Bar Room Banta comfortably maintained his lead to the finish line, winning by almost 4m in 1:51.3.

The exciting colt has now won five of his six starts and $111,890 in stakes money.

Bred by Ray Cahill, Bar Room Banta is out of the four-time winning Christian Cullen mare Jerada Ace, a full sister to the Group 1 placed juvenile Cullens Ace.

Earlier in the evening Our Money Rocks almost made it a Group 1 double for A Rocknroll Dance, finishing a close second in the 3YO Colts and Geldings NSW Breeders Challenge Final.

A Rocknroll Dance also enjoyed a strong evening of results at Melton on Friday with the reigning Australian 3YO Pacing Filly of the Year No Win No Feed finishing third in the Group 3 Angelique Club Pace and the 3-year-old fillies Dancing With Flo and Keayang Jackie both placing in the Argent 3YO Classic.

In South Australia, Dancing Finn continued to dominate the juvenile ranks, with the Group 3 winner recording her seventh win from nine starts at Globe Derby on Saturday.

On this side of the Tasman, New Zealand Cup hopeful Wild Excuse showcased her staying prowess, with the last start Group 3 Methven Cup place-getter winning over the mile in 1:54.3 at Ashburton Raceway on Labour Day after racing three wide and without cover for much of the race

With only three crops of racing age A Rocknroll Dance is already the sire of four Group 1 winners, an age group champion and almost thirty stakes race performers.
