Captain Crunch filly powers to Pink Bonnet win
The promising Captain Crunch filly Shes A Delaney proved much too classy for her rivals in the Group 3 Pink Bonnet for 2-year-old fillies at Menangle on Saturday night, winning with impressive ease.
The Anthony Frisby trained and driven juvenile led for much of the race after pressing hard for the lead off the gate, and despite being taken on by Outta The Ordinary through the middle stages, Shes A Delaney simply skipped clear at the top of the straight to score by 8.8m from Decoupage.
Shes A Delaney’s winning time of 1:53.9 is the fastest recorded by a 2-year-old filly in Australia this season, and the equal second fastest overall by a juvenile pacer in 2026.
It was her third win from six starts.
Shes A Delaney is out of the race winning Roll With Joe mare No Escape and traces to one of Australia’s most illustrious maternal families of recent times, with her granddam Lettuceggscape a half-sister to the Group 1 winners Villagem, Miss Graceland and Nostra Beach, as well as to Pixel Perfect, the dam of another trio of Group 1 winners in Soho Tribeca, Carlas Pixel and Soho Nolita.
Shes A Delaney was Captain Crunch’s sixth Southern Hemisphere juvenile stakes winner and his ninth overall.
