Captain Crunch progeny impress

There was a quartet of smart 2-year-old winners for Captain Crunch in North America today.

At Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania Captain Fear Not captured his $42,881 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes division in 1:51.4 – the fastest time recorded in any of the nine Sires Stakes or Stallion Series races contested on the card.

A $45,000 Harrisburg purchase, Captain Fear Not is out of the $300,000 earning Ponder mare Mikayla Rose.

At the same meeting Sayed Ali K took out a $20,000 division of the PA Stallion Series in 1:52.6.

It was his second consecutive Stallion Series win.

A homebred, Sayed Ali K is out of the Bettorʻs Delight mare Nesrin.

Earlier in the day there was a double at the Red Mile for Captain Crunch – with Leiter scoring in a $30,000 leg of the Kentucky Commonwealth Series and Blood Bond claiming a leg of the Kentucky Golden Rod Series in 1:52 flat.

Leiter is out of an Art Major mare and was a $95,000 Harrisburg Yearling Sale purchase, while Blood Bond is from a Western Ideal mare and sold for $100,000 at the 2022 Lexington Select Sale.
