Yearlings by first season sire Captain Crunch were in demand at yesterday’s NZB National Yearling Sale at Karaka with them selling for up to $220,000 and averaging an impressive $70,417 for six lots sold.

His top lot, a colt (pictured) out of the six-time Group 1 winner The Orange Agent, was the third highest priced yearling sold at the Auckland session, selling to Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan Racing Stables for $220,000.

The colt was consigned by Hollis and Robertson Equine Services.

Captain Crunch was the second leading sire overall by average, behind only his sire Captaintreacherous.
