Grace Hill became the latest millionaire for Always B Miki with a stakes record equalling win in the $540,000 Breeders Crown Mares Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Beginning quickly off the gate, Grace Hill took the lead from kiwi mare Amazing Dream by the half way mark, and despite being taken on through the third quarter by So Much More, who sat outside her, she still had enough left in reserve to hold out the hard charging race favourite, Test Of Faith, in the closing stages to win by a head in 1:48.8.

Her time equalled the race record for the Mares Open Breeders Crown Final, held jointly by Hana Hanover and Kissin In The Sand.

It was the Virgil Morgan Jr. trained mare’s 18th lifetime win and saw her surpass $1.1 million in stakes to become Always B Miki’s fourth millionaire pacer from his first two crops.

Bred by Hanover Shoe Farms, Grace Hill is out of the Western Terror mare Western Silk, a former Jugette winner and millionaire herself.
