Always B Miki filly Grace Hill took out the feature event for 3-year-old pacing fillies, the Shady Daisy, on Hambletonian day at The Meadowlands, setting a new lifetime mark of 1:49 in the process.

Handing up the lead to her stablemate Fire Start Hanover through the second quarter, Grace Hill timed her final run to perfection in the home straight, nabbing the leader in the last stride to win by a head.

Fellow daughter of Always B Miki, Mikala finished third.

It was the Nifty Norman trained Grace Hill’s sixth lifetime win, taking her stakes earnings to $329,472.

A $75,000 Lexington Select Yearling Sales purchase, Grace Hill is out of the brilliant $1.7 million earning Western Terror mare, Western Silk, and is her best performed foal to date.

The past few days have also seen some impressive performances by Always B Miki’s second crop of 2-year-olds, with the Chris Ryder trained filly Niki Hill now the fastest 2-year-old in North America on a 5/8ths of a mile track this year after winning her Pennsylvania Sires Stakes division in 1:50 3/5, and across the border in Canada the Carl Jamieson trained gelding True Blue Lindy was a comfortable winner of the $86,500 Dream Maker Series Final in 1:51 2/5 at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

A half-sister to the millionaire pacer Cattlewash, Niki Hill is out of a Bettor’s Delight mare, whilst True Blue Lindy is out of a mare by Yankee Cruiser, a son of Artiscape.
