The Dean Braun trained Gold Ace filly Annerie was a stunning winner of the Group 3 Tasmanian Oaks in her Australian debut at Hobart on Saturday evening, with the lightly raced 3-year-old storming home to sensationally reel in and pass the race favourite.

Towards the rear of the field for much of the $30,000 feature Annerie showed a dazzling turn of foot in the home straight to collar the race-favourite Momentslikethese, who looked to have the race in her safe keeping after pinching a decent sized break on the field rounding the final turn, and win going away by almost two lengths at the line.

A winner for Karen O’Dea at the beginning of January in New Zealand, Annerie has now won two of her six starts to date and placed in a further two

Bred by Nevele R Stud, Annerie is out of the unraced Changeover mare Feyonce, a half-sister to the Harness Jewels winning filly Safin.
